The long-term goal of SAC is to empower the public with education and awareness about the various diseases, disorders and social inactions. SAC is also committed in providing the following:
a.) Limited financial services for those who are receiving treatment for either cancer, disease, disorder or other major public health problem
b.) Book scholarship/stipend for those under privileged college bound students who have either
- Lost their parents to a form of cancer, disease, disorder or other major public health problem
- Has at least one parent who is currently undergoing treatment
SAC has the following programs in-place:
Utility Assistance Program (UAP) – The program designed to provide one-month utility assistance to patients who suffer from either a form of cancer/disease/disorder or other major public health problem. Maximum amount of utility assistance will be based off the average annual utility bill.
Patients must provide the following documentation to be eligible:
a.) verification of illness, disorder or other major public health problem
b.) previous 3 month utility bills
c.) proof of income
d.) proof of Madison County/Huntsville, AL residence
Let Us Not Forget Program (LUNFP) – is designed to provide funding to grant wishes and dreams to children whose parent(s) has passed due to cancer. This program will also include providing funding for Christmas gifts for those children whose parent(s):
a.) Has passed from either a cancer, disease, or other major public health problem
OR
b.) Is a survivor of a cancer, disease, or other major public health problem
Nelson Book Scholarship-Stipend Program (NDBSP) – The program is designed to provide a small monetary scholarship or book stipend for those under-privileged college-bound children of parents who are currently being treated for a form of cancer, disease, disorder or other major public health problem.
